3rd Annual Marco Island Seafood Festival a great success!

On Saturday, March 26th & Sunday, March 27th over 9000 people descended on Marco Island. Perfect weather, delicious seafood and enthusiastic volunteers greeted all.

Ten bands and individual musicians under the leadership of local entrepreneur, JRoberts, and master of ceremony, Steve Reynolds, provided continuous musical entertainment throughout the two days.

As in previous years, the goal was to raise funds for the 55 charitable projects which the Sunrise Rotary, Noon Time Rotary and the Kiwanis Club of Marco Island support.

Over 200 volunteers have made it a top priority to organize more than just a seafood festival.

• Entertainment for the whole family with a huge tent providing shade and seating for listening to music and eating great food. The variety and quality of seafood was outstanding.
• There were also hamburgers, hot dogs and wood oven pizzas, as well as a variety of sweet treats.
• During this last event, one of the new major sponsors, the Seminole Immokalee Casino, added another notch to the level of sophistication. Chefs from the casino restaurants and their staff, all in full uniform, presented a wonderful display of sandwiches, gumbo soup and fish chowder for visitors to sample at very reasonable prices.
• A large “Kids Zone” was built within easy viewing distance of the main tent and the stage to make sure the whole family could be entertained.
• Parking at the festival site never was a problem and free shuttle busses provided transportation from many areas on the island.

Many of the eighteen sponsors manned informational booths, offering a variety of goods and services including festival T-Shirts and even specially reduced rate cruises.
